Municipality claim for damage via road works

I was driving along though some dirty roads full of grit from roadworks and the car in front of me flung up a stone which cracked my indicator. Whats annoying is that i just recently replaced that indicator because the rubber seal thing was not looking 100%. Ive seen people make claims to the municipality (or road works agency?) for damage from pot holes and get paid. Has anyone claimed for other damage the road has caused your car? Or am I just wasting time, just buy another R500 lens, again.

I say try your luck on this one. I am however still waiting on my tyre/pothole claim, but that's another day's story...

Public Works. They have the 'PV' registration numbers (The guys with the yellow bakkies and truck pretending to fix roads... :mmm: )

i once put a claim in for hitting a pothole in edenvale long story short they paid out for all damages , 8k, took about 4 weeks.

also a claim in centurion same scenario but took about 6 months, but they paid out.
