Hi Gents,

I would like to get an MSA License,

Im sure there are many folk here that already have one... could you please share some thoughts on how to go about the process, and what the minimum requirements are?

Regards,
Ish

Depends on what you want the license for: drag racing, circuit racing etc.
For club stuff they will probably need to see a valid membership number of an affiliated car club. Call them to make sure, then just pull in at their offices and get one over the counter.

Join a club then wait for your Club Membership Number then apply online fill out the medical and everything else then pay the amount think it was around 2.5K for insurance and everything else then you fetch your card or they post it ,,,Depending on what you want to do its not a must have if you are going to do big drag events or track days then yes i would get it. :fencelook:

You must be a current member of a registered club in order to get a licence

What about day licenses? For example, im not a member of a club but im participating in the BMW Club Top End day this Saturday. Would i need to become a member first?

Spoke to the WPMC people earlier today..

If you are a 13 second + quarter mile, all you have to do is bring R350, and you could walk away with your license!

Guess where I will be this Saturday :joy:

You don't need to be a member of any club to get a day licence, but will need to be to get the proper MSA licence

+1, is basically for them to say is ok for you to race/drag in your own car... With your own tires... And your own petrol... You just paying msa to tell you is ok to race:thumbs:

If I remember correctly, you are limited to 3 day licences a year, so if you plan to do more than this join a club and get a regular licence.
