Mplan Friendly Tyres

Hi Guys,

I may ave to change tyres based on a puncture I have in two spots close too each other on the same tyre....

I have heard the certain tyres on the z4 ///M are not Mplan friendly. Before calling BMW, i wanted to find out if you guys know of which tyres are Mplan friendly on a Z4M...

I plugged it in the interim but now also have the issue of the tyre pressure indicator light constantly lit up red and not sure how to reset this, even though the pressures are fine in all the tyres. I did try holding down the button to reset it but no avail.... Any thoughts?

Thanks...

My advice....

Keeping your current tyres in the garage, incase you have suspension damage etc on your car, which is when Bmw will say, that the incorrect use of tyre's resulted in damage to the suspension, drivetrain.....Yes, ludicrous but it was exactly what i have been told when i called bmwsa...

However, iv sent my car in numerous ocassions into bmw with non runflat tyres and touch wood, i have had no issues

no probs with tires for Z4M I did ask as they are non Run flat to start with.
to reset TMP
1. Turn ignition to ON position (engine off)
2. Hold down TIRE PRESSURE button until TPMS telltale is illuminated.
3. Vehicle must be driven to complete reset.

According to Club Motors Fountains the tyres are not covered under motorplan so its your choice, my X5 passed the motorplan activation with normal non rft on.

Gav I fitted the Toyos while I still had 1 year of plan left and they were chill with it. This was at 2 different dealers as well. Leo Haese only check the tread depth when they take the car in. You're safe

Reason I ask guys is that when i took the car to Sandton Auto they refused to do the alignment because the tyres were not spec... But they actually were so I was really confused... The car has the original sport contacts...

Such disparate information.... Thanks for all the answers...

Gaaavs,

Conti M3 and Michelin PS2 are the only approved tyres for the Z4m.

PS: Toyo T1 Sports FTMFW!

Thanks BrettRuthnam, but are Conti M3 not only for the fronts while the 255's on the rear are sport contact 3?

Was it not just sport contact m3 ... And it would be all round.

Thats the part that gets me... The tyre places i visited quoted me M3 for the from and Sport Contact 3 for the rear...According to them thats OEM for my car...

All round yes. You get them in both 225 and 255 sizes. Buy Peertjies's set or try source another 255 M3 conti.
