the service advisor at the bmw dealership said that it would affect
the warranty if anything had to go wrong with the wiring in the car
and the claim would be voided

Go for it and have fun...install the xenon and sub....just my personal view. Find out from your local BMW dealer about an accredited (sound) installer.

The possibility of something going wrong with the wiring if it is a competent installer is unlikely and that it would interfere with the electronics of the car. If it does just ask your installer to remove it again.

I personally had an aftermarket anti-hijack system installed a couple of years ago and the system work pretty well on all my cars except on the 335. The problem was the anti-highjack wiring plugged into the ECU and caused major electronic problems, such as the alarm going off at any time when you drive; the car losing power and stuff. I asked my local BMW dealer to reinstall it through one of their accredited agents and all was fine afterwards.

Also how difficult is it to get the M pack bumpers for a 1 series? im talking price wise and would it have to be fitted by an approved bmw centre or can any panel beater do it?

Firts check if there is an approved installer. Your insurance company can also refer you to an approved agent.

BMW sells black grills, if I'm not mistaken they come to about R1000. There's a black grills thread here also where people get their own sprayed/vinyl wrapped if you want to go the cheaper option..

Alternatively, you can order them yourself from eBay or another online retailer such as JLSW and get them shipped here.

I personally Plasti-dipped mine with a bottle of plasti-dip I picked up from the UK. Comes out matte black and you can peel it off when you want to go back to chrome. You would think that it is therefore less resistant to stones etc and will come off easily.. Nope, mine's still perfect and i've had it for about 8 months or so I think :) Check it out

I wish I had R32K lying around to spend on Xenons (well..not really..even if i did i wouldn't spend that on them). Considering the option is something like R8000 when ordering the car, this is insane . That was a quote I got from my local dealer a few months ago.

And just on a side note: Try use more descriptive names for your threads if you want more people to check it out :) Almost skipped this one ;)

No prob man just giving you some tips here ;)

I haven't looked into that but if you find anything let me know...Only know of the E46 aftermarket angels. I have a slight feeling it may border on tacky though.. I may be wrong..

Yeah with the stock angel eyes you can just get a different bulb or HID unit and change the bulb of the angel eyes to a more blue/white colour.

Did the car have xenons as well or were they aftermarket angel eyes put on the halogens you saw? 1 Series?
