Motorplan service

My e90 320d is due for its next service. About 3.5 years old and 52000km.

What do you guys ask for at service under motorplan?

I'm thinking airfilter (the one in there looks terrible), cabin air filter, oil and filter obviously, wheel alignment, software update (if available), wiper blades...

Diesel filter and clutch were replaced at previous service... Brake pads were done recently too.

Anything else?

You don't have to worry about anything, when they read the key at the front desk, everything that needs to be attended to mechanically will be sorted.
Just tell them to have a look at the wiper blades, cause you mentioned it.

If your alignment is fine don't ask them to touch it. If the car goes straight and there's no uneven tyre wear leave it alone. If it ain't broke, don't fix. same goes for handbrake adjustment.

So what is the story about alignment. Some people suggest that alignment should only be done by dealers on an e90? I've done alignment at the local Autoquip and it always seemed fine to me... Should it rather be done at service only?

Hey Bud. Like stated here BMW will sort the car out they will replace what is needed. On the alignment... Now this is a contentious issue and I am being honest..

I have been in the workshop, the equipment is top notch, but BMW will not touch the alignment should anything else be a problem (buckled rims for example) .. Also sometimes they say they will do it, but you never get a printout of the numbers showing what they adjusted.. So if you really need BMW to do it, ask them for the printouts or better yet join them in the workshop :coolShake:

Also under motorplan no other shop is allowed to adjust certain major bolts, etc on the suspension other than BMW so if autoquip need to do major work even they will tell you take the car to BMW, so make sure they know it's a motorplan car before they start..
