Just before the long weekend, my wife and i were on our way home. When our 323i E90 started to over heat, we were on the highway with nowhere to pull over safely, lucky we were close to a BMW dealership. We coasted the car to the dealership.

They say could be a faulty sensor or they may have to strip the cylinder head and pressure test it or worst case scenario replace the engine with a new one :excited:

Thank god its still on motorplan (i only have 4000km left on the plan:dropjaw

shit! can only imagine if it fell out of mplan!! my 2007 audi 2.0 GEARBOX replacement wud have cost me R71 000 excl vat to replace if it fell out of mplan. given that this is a beemer engine i dnt even wanna know wat it wud hav cost!!

Always remeber at dealers cost x 10 to what it would cost anywhere else. So gearbox for Audi might have only been 10k. From Sparklight or such.

BMW called at 12:30pm, they replaced the water pump and the water bottle and were doing pressure tests. Have not heard from them since.

That water bottle went on my car 3 weeks ago. (Expansion tank,.) BMW wanted 1250 exl labour for it. Got original part and fitted myself for 750.

Well got my baby back. R7000 worth of repairs. New electric water replaced, sensor and a few other components.

Engine is fine, haven't driven her yet.
