MOTORPLAN RIPOFF!!!!!

So I am interested in an E90 323i that is coming up on repo auction this week, a 2006 Sporstpack model with 99,000km on the clock. I phone my local BMW agents and ask them if the Motorplan is still valid and if I can extend it if I buy. They say yes and yes and give me the following quote......

R 1,110.00 to do a 20 point quality check first, then the options are:

- 2Yrs & 20,000km - R 23,196.00 (R1.16/km)
- 2yrs & 50,000km - R 56,313.00 (R1.12/km)
- 2yrs & 80,000km - R 93,637.00 (R1.17/km)

It's no wonder BMW's with no Motorplan are so cheap to buy:dropjaw:

So I guess I'm not going to the auction.........

Those prices are just a part of what pays for motorplan, another part is paid by suckers, whoops sorry, what I meant to say was out of motorplan owners not suckers, I don't even know where that came from.

Nice ride you are considering but the motorplan costs are crazy ... But heed the thoughts of Sankekur.

Motorplan actually is calculated by time or mileage.

In your case it's mileage which is the more expensive option as the vehicle is used more often therefore will need to be serviced more often, parts will need to be replaced, etc ...

Take my previous car, an e46 M3. I sold it at 62000kms, but the first extension of the motorplan cost only 4K and after a month or so the Vanos gave in and cost a cool 30k (covered by motor plan). Finally before selling the car i did extend the motorplan again for 6K.

As you can see i was buying time so it's much cheaper. However the prices you got are just a rip off.

BMW can't justify these prices, sure parts are expensive but does something break every month? I can tell you now that most of the charges are in their mad labor charges.

Anyway good luck with finding a car, remember there is always a car out there some where waiting for us :)
