Motorplan History

Hi All,

Looking for historical info on vehicle Im interested in purchasing.

Have called BMW SA and dealer, and the repair centre where a repair was carried out but they say they can't see any detail on it.

Can anyone assist me with this please?

Hi,

Have you got the last 7 digits of the vin number? Take it to any dealership and ask them to print out the history and any comments that it might have

Carbon - Ive called them given last 8 digits, they see the info but say there is no detail to the repair?

some of the dealerships are sticky about handing out motorplan information when the car is not in your name.
Phone around and speak to a few, sooner or later someone will give it to you.

BMWSA and dealerships are not allowed to give that info out to anyone who is not the owner of the car. You need someone on the inside or you will find it difficult to get the info you require.

They gave me the motorplan history of the car I bought. Just take your key to them.

That fine, but its no good to a prospective buyer who wants to have this info before buying the car.

BMW or any dealer will require the consent of the current owner before releasing the MP history to a prospective buyer. If the seller does not want to give consent, better walk away. If I would be selling a car, I will get the info from BMW myself and then provide copies to any prospective buyer.

This car is being bought from a non BMW dealership - very low mileage. The repair was for 31k - so can't be much damage on 1 series - I think I am going to insist that I want a copy of the repair invoice before signing the deal. Good plan

This will be marked as comments on the MP, they should also have a description of what was replaced/repaired.

Cant be allot of damage for R31k and if the repair was done by BMW which it should have been then damage could not have been bad.

But as always the car has to go to BMW for the inspection for the MP to be transferred onto your name.
