:joy: Had a good laugh now. 13,5k to extend an M3 with 42,000kms an extra year. :flyfun:

based on what I have claimed on my motorplan in the last year I would take it with both hands and say thank you

I have claimed nothing, just an oil change a yr.

They can shove that far up where the sun don't shine. Will take that 14k and put it towards the SC Kit.[/align]

My car might be older but if i look at what I have managed to get them to pay out it is easily over R100K in 12 months.

have you looked at what a full set of discs and pads cost? new clutch?

i think he is looking at it the wrong way, you M owners should convince this guy why he needs to extend it

he probably under the impression nothing will break in the next year so why fork out that extra money

just something on a side note if you out of MP you cant get back in so i would suggest extending it and continue doing so for as long as you can plus the up side to it is should you want to sell you will get a buyer easier then a M car that has no MP and you will get more money for it as well:thumbs:

just something to think and ponder about

an M car with no motor is a big :nonono:

Motorplan is just another business, actually a gold mine. The winners are the company and its shareholders, the loosers are the customers.

Yep, tell them to shove it deep and hard.
Out of 5 beemers so far, had no issues, and no motorplan.

Given my cars history it's a waste. For that yr of extension I will do 3,000kms at most, hardly justifies 13k in maintenance. When the plan reaches expiry next yr, will get new disc, pads and what ever else under the plan.

Im healthy and hardly never go to the doctor - but you wont see me without Med Aid - especially for the cost of these hospitals..

From what I understand the Motorplan system is losing money overall. The new cars just cost too much to keep them going.

I'm gonna do the same next year, but will still extend. If something big does go pop, then I'll take of the SC and send it in.

Remember 14k might sound hectic only if you don't claim but if you really need MP its really cheap. I haven't claimed much on my V8, but I did have the gear change module changed on the DCT(common fault on eariler models) when the car just a few months old, MP paid out 28k for a replacement that was just a few hours job. Recently a minor oil service came to 8k because brake pads and brake fluid flush was included, so if you have to do disks as well, by by 14k easy.

Suggest you take it mate, my e46 M3 cost MP around 65k after just a month of paying 6.5k for a extension of the plan.

Oh and btw there is a elite aftermarket maintenance plan out there for premium/supercars. This allows you to cover modifications of the vehicle at an additional cost whilst still having it taken to a dealer for any repairs/services. Can't get their name at the moment however.

Rather have it, and not need it, then need it and not have it.

I would love to have a motorplan on my car, just for peace of mind. It's a bummer you can't buy one anytime you like

It's quite pricey, on mine it's R10k. I agree that if you care for your car and not rape it nothing major should go wrong with it. Especially if you not putting miles on it.

1 year additional motorplan won't add R14k value to the resale.

I agree that it's better to have and not need it than need it and not have it, but if you know your car well enough and not too scared to diy then you can save some bucks.

It's a tough decision and a very subjective one at that. Let us know what you decided
