you have to report it to BMW emmediatly!!!
Otherwise your motorplan will be cancelled, it can only be repaired by bmw approved workshop.
Also they cancel the motorpla, fix the car, and then re-inspect it before motorplan gets reinstated.
BMW Customer Contact Centre 0800 600 555 and ask them to make sure.
Ahhhh shizze, thanks though, its just a ding on the rear fender. Was hit and run, and we dont know who hit it.

Coisman is totally right, it has to be an approved body shop.
If they detect work that is not on their records, bye bye motorplan.
Obvoisly if you have a scratch on this mirror, or a minor ding, you can have it done elsewhere, and nobody is going to care, but if you have a subframe failure or a door falls off or something daft, they will inspect the vehcile for previous repairs, and all panel work can almost always been seen by a trained eye.
Thanks, but as mentioned above its a ding and the car is drivable, lol, subframe failure. But I know the deal with the motorplan cancellation, happened to my dad, the car(another one) had suspension damage, the dealer picked it up. MP was suspened, paid 1K plus for inspection and then re-instated. But honestly its nonsense.
I'll explain why.
The car was smashed from behind a few months later. An approved shop did a KAK job, like really its kak, the cars has gone back 3 times already and they still cant get the paint right. Yet an inspector from BMW say that the job is OK.
In personal opinion I think the whole aftersales service is un-desirable, esp from one of the worlds largest car manufacturers. But then again thats me and my bad experiences, I have had a few good ones.
