Modified the exterior "styling" of my 745i today...

Ok, so with the help of a minibus taxi and a rubbish-bin I've changed the lines of the lefthand side of my e65 today.

How was I suppose to know a relaxed sunday afternoon drive was going to end this way... I was driving in the lane that is marked to turn left when all of a sudden the taxi driving next to me in the lane going staight decides he wants to turn left as well. Not sure if he really didn't see me (not as if the 7 is a huge car, hey???) In an effort to avoid him hitting me I drove onto the sidewalk, but didn't see the rubbish-bin standing there... Well, see the attached pictures of how my 7 looks now...


I used to love the car, but now I do not even want to think of it...

Dude , I dunno if moving out the way was a bad idea because now your insurance is going to have to pay right ? Otherwise you could have taken the bleksem to court and have him fix it for you . Goodluck with the fix I'm sure it will only need panel beating .

Not only shoot the bliksem but stop and make sure he gets out of his taxi then bliksem the shit out of him for doing that... fact is they just don't give two shits about traffic laws and regulations, they do what they want.
I had to swerve for a bastard that saw me coming and he decided a red light is not for him and turned right in front of me.
Then when i gave him the finger and he stopped next to me i asked him if he's stupid and why does he drive over red lights...

His answer to me was "this is our country and you white people must accept we do what we want." my reply to him after that is rated so we leave it at that.

Thanks for the uplifting words guys, hopefully its not as bad as I thought (although there is a bolt that went through the sheetmetal on the rear door.) I phoned around today, CRauto can sell me 2nd hand door shells @ R4650 each.
(I may have to replace the rear door...) Waiting for the insurance guys to process, then I'll get some qutes to get it fixed.

LZ, will you be able to help out here? when are you closing for the holidays? how long do you think this will take to fix?

There is damage to front and rear passenger doors, rear fender in front of rear tyre, and deep scratch on the rim, my question now is, would it have been better to hit the taxi (front right Xenon, bumper, front right fender and bonnet?)

I need to take a look at what can and cant be saved, but it does look like both doors, or at least the rear. Fender is fine no troubles.

I am closing around the 22nd, however before you buy those doors, first get authorization from the insurance, they may insist on either new, or will supply the doors themselves.

Who is the insurance company.

Thanks LZ, I will come round somewhere this week to get a honest opinion. I will not buy the doors myself, just wanted to find out where I can get them secondhand and the cost.

The insurance (Innovation) is paid for by the company I work for, and I haven't used it before. Hopefully I'll know the terms and conditions tomorrow...

I do about 30 cars a month for Innovations group on their small scratch and dent policies.

They are not bad, they may even authorize 2 new doors, but I priced them today at BMW at 16k a piece, just as bad as the X5 I did the other day.

LZ, been around to your shop today, spoke to Izak, if I recall correctly... He took a look at the car and said that I should rather go MF Autobody repairs, not sure why???

Got a qoute from BMW today R57000, but they will only be able to do the car next year, and like LZ said R16k a door. At that price I'm going to make sure I do not mess them up again...

I felt quite self-conscious driving around in a messed up car today, so the car will just be parked away in the garage under a car cover untill I can get it fixed.

He did say we will be able to do the job, but that whole BMW approval thing again.

Is your vehicle under motorplan ?

Either which way, I can do motorplan work provided that I pay for the inspection fee, have done before, and if its not under motorplan, Innovations will authorize this job, I am sure of it.

If I get started now, you can have this car back still this year.
