MINI servicing in Cape Town

Hi all,

My 2007 R56 is out of motorplan and the dealer is obviously super expensive. Does anyone know any good garages/mechanics who specialise in MINIs in Cape Town? I'd rather go to someone who knows what they're doing.

Also, I had the brake pads & sensors replaced at Supa Quick (for R2900 as opposed to R7k quoted by Auto Atlantic) - but for some reason Supa Quick couldn't reset the onboard computer. Took it to the dealer and they couldn't either, saying they reckon Supa Quick used aftermarket parts. Am taking it back to Supa Quick to get them to sort this out but has anyone had any similar issues? Don't want to be tied into using MINI parts just so the onboard computer recognises the parts, but also don't want to drive around forever with the warning lights on...

Normal dealer services are not that expensive compared to the aftermarket. I would stick with the dealership.

The only reason the onboard computer wont reset is because the sensor is either, the old one, a fake one or none.

The ECU will reset its self after installing the new sensor and driving a few kilometers.

Get it checked out mate.

Thanks. I took it back to SupaQuick and the sensor was faulty. They replaced it and it's working fine. Glad I saved the extra cash by not doing it at Mini, even though it was a bit of a hassle.
