HI guys it's been a long time since my last update.
Well after payday I am gonna buy the steel tubing and start aligning the body and weld the steel into place.

I have got a big surprise for you guys about what I am putting into the mini :joy:, hopefully I would be able to tell in December what the surprise is and show you guys my plans

Cheers for now until the weekend.

HI I'm back with an update!!!
I have been researching about LED RPM and Speedometer, so the whole gauge assembly of the mini will be running LED's.
The speedo, RPM, trip counter, water temp, oil pressure, Fuel level, battery voltage, etc.
This is the design for the speedo and RPM so long:

So I think everyone has waited very long to hear about the surprise, well its the motor I'm putting in. I'm putting in a 1.8 8valve VW golf MK2 motor with duel side draft 40mm Weber carbs and a stage 2 cam.

Lets get back to how far I am with the mini.
I've started to weld the car back together.

First here is the car in place to be welded up.

This is the size gap I need to fill up (300mm)

Next up is the door tacked in place.

The inside of the car.

I used the doors to fill up the gap.
This is the door before I got the grinder out.

And this is the door after the grinder.

Now I just need to get the left door in and then I can turn the car around and start building the body kit.

Bye for now.

Hi all its been a long time since I posted.
Things have been mad.
I'll post some pics tonight of what had happend and what I'm about to do.

I would like to know if there is anyone that knows about glassfibre molding, that could point me in the right direction for molding clear glassfibre?

Hi guys I have got an update of what I am working on for the mini.

I have been working on the body kit design and think I have what it is going to look like.

This is only the front of the car, I have got more detailed images that I will upload later, but here is my idea so far.
I will also show the 3D model when I have finished designing it.

This image is from the front

Here is from the side

Let my know what you guys think.

@Bratt....I think upgrading a mini's brakes are the first point to start on...

My boet had a 1275 which had a bit of peri-peri added to the motor, dual side draughts, and a wild cam....needless to say it ran - very well, but braked - as equally k@k!

I guess the brake upgrade was due to your experience...i always dreamt and still want to build myself a min which would be able to run between 15 and 17inch rims....massive i know, but unique is the aim.

Im all to busy on my e30 Drift car build....its come a really long way - as has your car.

Enjoy it and keep updating!

Thanks for the advice and the interest in mini's.

I have already got a better break system than the mini system, I got and designed every thing for the breaks in Apr 2010 as on page 1 of this thread.

What is breaks without a body, suspension, a motor or wheels? :thumbdo:

After I completed the body kit, added my motor and suspension, then I'll add my ready owned break system and wheels.

O and I don't have the mini at my house so I can't work on it so I would rather do all of my designs before I start any physical work on the car again.

Thanks for reading.

Hi all reader
This projeck is on hold for a while now, I would like to know if someone knows which diff for rear wheel drives would be small enough to fit in the mini and still put out a lot of power on the wheels.
My idea for engine is still the 2L vw golf motor or a 1000cc bike motor.
Both engines put out around the same amount of power.
I would anyway be upgrading the engines for more power (200KW) is what I want the engine to put out.

Surely a diff from a Nissan champ will work if you wanna go RWD?

Just not sure what power itll be able to handle.
