Mini r56 need help on rebuild question

I'm rebuilding a 2007 mini cooper s and I need to either get the cylinders machined and buy oversized pistons or find a new block (cylinder walls have scratches in wall and pressure is leaking past the piston). I found a great deal on an N12 upper block and as far as I can tell its the same block but was hoping to get the opinion from someone who knows more about these than I do. Are the n12 and n14 blocks interchangable?
