Mini Cooper S Carbon cleaned

Strangely enough the Cooper S is one of the few cars we do not see very often coming in for a Carbon Clean. These cars benefit greatly from the carbon cleaning and of all cars that suffer from Carbon Build up the Mini R56 is the worst of the lot.

Below are some pictures.

The car came in with on off performance problems. It seems what is occurring is that the valves momentarily stick and the car picks up this noise as a knock and retards timing and lowers boost. In most cases this comes up as a super knock fault killing the performance.
On overall the car couldnt spin in second when it came in and left performing better than ever.

For a 100k that does not look too bad.

Is there a breather or something you can vent out to prevent this completely?

Hi,

I haven't seen a RS5 but the S5 is bad enough to have it done before 50,000km.
The recirculation system on the RS5 is quite similar so I expect similar build up.

I will be acquiring a 07 Cooper S R56 soon.

It has just over 100k kms on and I doubt that it has ever had a carbon cleanup.

Could u please PM me what time frame and cost I would be looking at?
