Hi Guys,

Hows the quality of the parts supplied at MD House? I am considering buying my power steering pump from them.

Thanks

It depends. Most of the parts come from scrapped cars and they not all that cheap. But for sheer convenience it's worth a visit. Leonard and I had a ball there earlier this week!

Waterpumps are stored in a section not open to the public, on shelves, specifically packed by model, nothing on top of them.

The parts guy knows what the parts cost from the agents, and usually, in most cases they are half, certian items they will ask a premium for, because they buy premium cars.

There are 3 E60 M5's there, 3....

I spend most saturdays there lately, and we buy odd crap, and I have walked out of there with a smile on my face every time.

Today was no different.

We walked out there today with a manual gearbox for an E92 M3, a complete radio set on an E53, an airbag for an F01,

I asked these guys last week to pack me some boxes with bolts, I walked out there today with 2 of these

Get to know the guys, and actually spend money with them, and you will find its the best BMW scrapyard in jhb.

I make this post for them out of the loyalty they have shown to me in terms of pricing.

But I spent 30k with them today,

In comparison with some of the other well known scrap yards... and places I have tried to buy F01 spares from..

Understand this, the cars that they buy are not cheap, the place is not filled with E90 320's and who knows what else, their total stock holding is close on 12 million, so for the once of customer they are going to make maximum profits, as does everybody else.

IF you become a regular, and actually buy from them for a project or something, they are fantastic.

MD house is good!Bought a few parts from them already and shipped it to people who needed it in Cpt.

Like Leonard said, the more you buy from them the better prices they give u!.... and always tip the guys that work there that strip the parts for you...They will remember you next time you come!

Plus 1 on tipping

R20 bucks to a stripper goes a long way there,

The other thing is, they do take returns.

If you buy a part, and it does not work, they will swap it out of they have stock, if they do not have stock, they will issue you with a credit note.

I once had a 13k credit with them, that i kept for about 6 months, and they took it over two purchases.
