Guys

Apart from the wealth of knowledge learnt through trial and error, does BMWFANATICS have BMW techis on line?

Not really no..

Which is quite sad.

A dealership would do quite well giving us a trained BMW tech online with the ability to give a helping hand.

Every second dealership wants to come onboard as a sponsor, but its usually just the car sales guys, never anybody from technical, or part sales...

Hence the reason why we have no official BMW dealership sponsor just yet.

Ring Fenced approach?

No Rowa, was just thinking if BMW is onboard it would be great but what about fanatics that's modded their cars.imagine taking your car for a fix and BMW tells you WE KNOWS YOU!:roflol:

But to have someone on board, even an Indy to advise so that we don't sit at home wondering if my Idrive needs a complete overhaul cos my dash lit up like a Christmas tree yesterday.

Is it moisture
Is it rear bearings
Is it slow leak causing tyre pressure failure
Is it Throttle body actuators

let alone the dealerships, are the techi's not allowed to joined forums like these or are they all just afraid of the questions that they might get asked and not be able to answer, thus showing the lack of knowledge and skill that most of us have experienced...

with the amount of noise from tuners here , one can only imagine the noise if a techie from BMW was available

It would be easier and cheaper for BMW to make TIS available to us... dealing with the forum will be a full time job...

Fanatics dont sleep

Doesn't quite explain how some of the cars that have full service history with bmw are the way they are, or the fact that it takes days to figure out what external specialists figure out in a day.

I am new here, my reply may not have any weight behind it but:
From replies to problems encountered by fellow forumites, I would say you do not need "official" techies here. Because you are passionate about the cars and marque, it is only natural to be informed about their workings?

I see/read fanatics share experience and knowledge without hesitation. Salute!:praise:
