M52 Facelift E46 compatible?

Hi all,

Is the M52 Engine compatible to the facelift E46?

Is it plug and play if I swop the throttle body of the M54 engine onto the M52?

M52 or M52TU?

M52, no

M52TU, it could, but just for one thing the coil pack harness might be different not too sure what else.

How do I tell if it is a M52 or M52TU, guess it is the last engines on the pre-facelift models?

M52TU will look just like an M54 but with cable throttle instead of the drive by wire throttle of the M54 and will have cat-less headers similar those on the M52.
