At this stage of their life these cars are known to knock big ends.
Whoever buys it would be best advised to have them done as well as chain tension rails as that is another area of concern.

All told R20 000 to R30 000 worth of work.

I did research on this when I owned my M5

The mains can be done from underneath, by just dropping the cross member, the sump ect...

Very true Leonard however for people who are not DIY capable it will lead to a substantial bill.
Equally when chain tension rails are done the upper sump gasket tears which requires a pile of silicone on the corners and no guarantee that it will not leak there.
