haters gonna hate, but make peace with it.. the diesel engine is the future of motorcars..

Well diesel comes from oil same as petrol so if petrol dies away diesel dies away with it. Electric is probably the future, not too bad seeing that you can have 5000nm from 1 - 20000 rpm

i got a question...
now i dont know much about refining petrol, but as far as i know diesel is a by-product of petrol production and you need to make petrol to produce diesel...

so if every one starts driving diesels then the leftover petrol should be come cheaper then diesel because there will be less demand...

now if you consider a diesel is only marginally cheaper to run because maintenance costs are higher...

then petrol might be the way to go  (if im right about the production)

Not quite moranor.
Petrol does come off the refinery after diesel, so you could argue that you can stop distilling once you get the diesel out, but the refinery system is set up to utilize all of the crude oil, hence you have certain percentages of each product that comes off a give quantity of crude oil.

In short:

so then you would still have to produce petrol to make gas...

given how much the diesel price has gone up in comparison to petrol...

i think there is a real possibility of petrol becoming cheaper some time in the future...
