M3 wheels on an E46 TI

hello all,

I have read various stories about fitting M3 wheels to non M cars and there seems to be different opinions about.

I want to fit E46 or even E36 M3 wheels to an E46 318ti, can this be done by using 4 front E46 wheels so I dont have issues with rear arches.

If so how difficult is it to get hold of 4 front E46 M3 wheels instead of a set of narrows and wides. Would it just be easier to fit E36 M3 wheels and do these just bolt on.

Thanks and regards

If you want OEM M3 wheels then it will be difficult to get hold of 4 fronts I believe, unless you go for reps. I presume you're looking for the 18inch wheels?

I can understand that you like OEM wheels, but if you're after 4 fronts, it effectively means buying 2 sets of 4 wheels each, as people seldom break up a set to sell. Have you considered a decent set of aftermarket wheels - it might be the more cost effective option.

IIRC, the OEM E46 M3 18" wheels were much heavier than the 19s - so personally, I'd look for a good quality aftermarket set instead of paying a lot for OEM M3 18s. Buying second hand wheels also means a risk of it being damaged, poorly repaired, etc, especially with front wheels and the cr@p state of our roads.

Also consider the E90 18" sport packs wheels if you want OEM. They fit very nicely on the E46 and are usually much easier to find

Have actually not seen too many reps of the E46 M3 18" wheels. However, there are a million variations of the CSL reps - some are bloody good too.
