second hand prop shaft? How does the prop shaft break? I taught its just the coupling and center support bearing that goes.
What happened to yours?
There are 4 areas of possible failure:
-Flex disc / Guibo
-Centre Support Bearing
-CV joint
-U-joints
The first three (flex disc, CSV, CV) are replacement. The u-joints are not, and therefore require a new propshaft.
My suggestion would also to look for a used propshaft, but consider then that the CSB and Flex disc might still need replacing. At least with a new prop, you can be certain that there will be no issues as a new one comes with a brand new CSB, CV, flex disc.

As it says and no other comments on my last post except for "maybe dust ....." I have to replace the propshaft as it cannot be repaired.
So my question is BMW oem cost 15k and 6 weeks waiting period. Is there no other manufacturer that can be found or orders for a better proce.
Any assistance will help.
Cheers.
How have you concluded that the prop needs replacing? A clunk like that could easily be serviceable parts like the flex disc and Centre supporting bearing, or rear CV.
If its only a clunk, and not causing an actual vibration under load or at high speed, then I would think that there is a good chance it can be fixed. Has a workshop given you this diagnosis?
