Electric Power Steering

• Will not compensate for understeer, oversteer, coarse road surface. Motor will not help unwind the steering wheel and it will self-center by by natural forces

o Lightweight aluminum construction for components such as control arms, wheel carriers and axle subframes saves 11 pounds (5kg) over a conventional steel design

Aerodynamics
• Front apron, smooth underbody and gurney spoiler at the rear of the M3 Sedan (or integrated spoiler lip at the rear of the BMW M4 Coupe) reduce lift by an equal degree at the front and rear axle.
• Inflowing air through the engine oil cooler creates a Venturi effect, which reduces front axle lift and, in so doing, improves the steering.
• Air Curtain and M gills with integrated Air Breather rearwards of the front wheels minimize turbulence in the front wheel arches.

One day you will say - Am I the only one feels a true M should be force induction-

It's gonna be a great all round package.
The motor is based on the N55 :) , shows the confidence of BMW in the engine.

At similar boost levels i.e 1.3bar boost . The M135i or 435 should be very close to the M3 in straight line performance.

Makes me wonder what's going into the M2

Based on the 1986 model year E30 3-Series, the E30 M3 used the BMW S14 engine.

In contrast to later M3 iterations, the E30 M3 was campaigned by BMW as well as other racing teams including Prodrive and AC Schnitzer competing in many forms of racing including rally as well as German, British, Italian, Belgian, French, and Australian touring. The production of the E30 road car was to homologate the M3 for Group A Touring Car racing. It was to compete with the "2.3-16V"-model of the Mercedes-Benz W201 190E that was introduced in 1983. In its final years of competition, the 2.5-litre S14 engine in full race trim was capable of over 250 hp (190 kW) naturally aspirated.

nope, you are not the only one. i would only ever buy a car with FI. N/A are not for me

Love the 1m ... Loads of fun .... It's faster than an e92 m3 ... Little more unruly ... But having said that ... Its not an m3 ... M3 is still the better car for me ... At some point having faster means squat unless you all bout the best times ... I like the experience a car can give ...

Reading this makes me like the E92 M3 even more, as its a V8 and unique. New one sounds like a N55 on steroids. Something about driving a V8 will always appeal to the petrolheads. We'll never get that sound track with the new M3/4.

Fuel consumption of 34mpg = 6,92 l/100km ,
It's a phenomenal achievement for bmw.

By comparison the previous M3

The previous M3 is 10.69 l/100 km ( or 22mpg)
That is approx a 3.5l/ 100km improvement. .

Holy crap ... Thats good consumption ... M3 v8 hovers around the 17-18 mark lol (if I recall) ... This is the smallest m3 motor since the e30 ...
