Just read my June issue of the CAR mag, some fact they got from a contact at BMW.
Apparently they were looking at using a 3.0 in line 6cyl, with 3 turbos, but opted for the 3.0 V6 Twin Turbo due to size and packaging reasons.
Good for 320kW, 550Nm. , 75 kg lighter than the outgoing model and good for a 0-100km/h time of 4,4 - 4,5 secs.
