Lurker Finally registering

Hi everyone.

Been lurking for a few years now after getting my first BMW (2014 320i) after being a Honda driver my entire driving life.

I don't think I'll go back

I registered partly because I need some help with the dreaded N20 timing chain issue, and if anyone knows someone in Somerset West to recommend that won't break the bank too badly I'd appreciate it greatly.

Also, I am into DIY and modding, so there's that as well

So I found a mechanic close to home. He appears to be decent, and so far haven't experienced any issues. Very willing to let me ask questions about the state of the car, showed me around the workshop, and set my mind at ease about the general condition of my car.

A note. I have a 2014 N20 engine, and as such the timing chain cloud is hanging over the car... took it to BMW month ago to have them diagnose any potential issues, they said everything is fine as there's no noise and the slack in the chain is normal.

I had it done anyway... Fortunately before there were any more issues.
Diagnosis : stretched timing chain (was shown a comparison with the new one) and slightly broken guides. there were no bits in the oil pan.
