Low power on pullaway

I have a 2004 E46 318i with the intermittent problem when there is very little power on pullaway. I read lots of queries on this, a fellow worker has exactly the same problem. Never seems to be any answers. Has anyone solved this problem successfully?

Could be the MAF (airflow meter) needs replacing

does the power fluctuate? Like has no power then suddenly surge of power then again nothing?

Try unplugging the MAF & see if its the same?

When I replaced my MAF I Also put in new plugs as they needed replacement anyway.. after that I could really feel the difference

I had this on my ST until I started "servicing" the MAF and MAP sensors. This seems to be something they do not do with a service.
I clean them every +/- 5000kms with some IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol AKA Running Alcohol). This needs to be done very carefully though as there are very thin sensor wires you need to be careful about not breaking.

List of things to check
1) MAF
2) Resonator box (remove it and checks for holes)
3) Check you spark plugs (if you have oil on them, replace your tappet cover gasket)
4) Clutch

good luck with this x-file dude

Hi, nee pa is nie Louis Henning nie

Problem is frustrating me terribly - spoke to the local BMW dealer today who mentioned numerous possibilities. Have decided to book the car in for them to diagnose. Will report back after the visit on 05 April. Also got the impression they have attended to many similar cases.
