In the middle of last year, my sensible car was involved in an accident. The repairs were screwed up by the panelbeater and after a lot of to and fro argument, the panelbeater bought the car off me for a price close to book value. I had other stuff going on in my life at the time and decided to put off replacing the car till this year, relying on my faithful Landy to get me around (slowly, but in a sort of style).
Anyway, I've started looking for the replacement. Before someone asks, it was the top of the range Renault Captur. As I said, sensible, reliable, quiet, comfortable and economical. Oh, and safe, if I have to look at the accident my wife and I walked out of unhurt, save a minor whiplash.
Logical me says sensible is good. Get another one of the same. This may well happen. However, while searching for sensible, I came across a 1997 Z3 2.8 with very very low km.
Now the question is whether this is actually a viable alternative to sensible. From what I gather, these are simple, beasts, compared to any modern car, reliable and fun.
Also, what would be a realistic price for one of these?
