Looking for trust worthy garage

Hey guys and girls.

I stay in Fourways area and work in Emmarentia.

I am looking for a TRUST WORTHY RMI approved garage that I can take my car to for any work that would need to be done and claim via the warranty and ideally knows N55 motors and BMWs in general.
Car is out of plan now and under an after market warranty.

I don't mind getting it serviced by BMW but their hourly rate is to high for them to diagnose and then not want to use my warranty etc.

I need someone close to Emmarentia ideally so I can drop it in the morning and fetch it after work for example and not have to travel all over JHB.

Any recommendations please? thank you

What is the going rate at BMW now? I think it depends on what work you would like to be done, normal service items, yes you would need a RMI workshop that will stamp the book etc.
for detailed technical work, I would recommend a specialist and most of these guys are not RMI affiliated.

The only two people I know off that I trust are Gizmo (he has worked on two of my cars, and he is superb) and Peter (based on what I have seen thus far and the recommendations).

Hope you find a recommendation close to you though as they are in jhb but just not in emmarentia

So far the service has been excellent. The workmanship not so much... who leaves a vacuum hose disconnected for 15000km and still can’t pick it up after two visits which included a thermostat replacement.

Depending on what happens today I’ll create a detailed post.

Unbelievable...all the best bud.

I am using AutoGlen, their service is excellent, they are good with basic stuff (change oil, pads, etc.) ....I had to change injectors in the car , it went twice to them....error and rework!

Apologies for the derail Wes.

Third time my Z is back. Took delivery on the 2nd of April and maybe drove it for 7 days in total so far.

Wes, it’s worth arranging with work to get in late and leave early to be 100% sure the shop working on your car does a proper job.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll check all the suggestions.

I know a lot of the better, ethical mechanics and specialists are not RMI approved but the the problem I have is if I need to fork out cash for a new alternator or O2 sensors etc when something goes wrong then I would then rather take the 'maintenance money' and use it towards financing a M140 or 7R something. :fencelook:

I have the warranty which I am paying for so I would like to use the benefits of having it.

I just need someone who is able to get the job done and not waste my time or theirs.

SR Speedworx seems to be really efficient but they are so far from me.

No problem for the derail

+1 for the 357,

Also try Auto Elite (previously Tweek performance) in Kya Sands. Trishan is a knowledgeable guy and a pretty honest mechanic
