Looking a buying a E90 325i but need advise

Hi guys

I'm looking at purchasing a 2007 E90 325i with 108000 km on the clock and FSH. I'm just concerned about the milage. My mech says I should be concerned about engine sludge due to long servive intervals / oil changes.

Should I be concerned about the high milage?
Anyone with a 6 cylinder experience the sludge issue?

I also took a pic of the instrument cluster and was wondering about the warning triangle just below the temperature reading. What's it indicate?

Any advise or opinions would be helpful

The triangle could be from the fuel entering the lower then 80km range.
As for the car, dont think its a bad deal, as long as the service history is up to date and there are no comments from BMW

Thanks for the replies guys.
Test driving the car tomorrow, then will make the decision.

Not too bad a price for the year model, and mileage is still decently low!

Yep, as said, chances are the low fuel level is the reason for the exclamation triangle - 333 km on the trip meter! Hope that's not the range for a tank of fuel!

This is why my cars are subjected to yearly oil changes at least or 10000 km intervals. But these engines are known to use a certain amount of oil, so depending on the severity chances are the engine has had fairly fresh oil throughout the time between service intervals.

Hi Bud,

as said, the warning triangle means the car is not happy about something, in this case it could be low fuel, and I think maybe even safety belt.

I also offer a "purchase pre-check" program whereby I examine the car on your behalf, do a diagnostics, test drive, and general body feedback

Drop me a PM if I can assist...

As mentioned already, it could just be fuel.

In any case, when you test drive the car, go into the "Check Control" menu and it should tell you if there are any other faults. To get to check control, insert the key in ignition, use the little toggle switch on the left stalk and you'll get to the menu by either scrolling up or down.

could also be for low oil, happens when it gets to the low point and then you just have to add 1 litre oil.

but could mean a couple of things

not a bad price

Thanks again for all the advise. Yeah, just hope the warning triangle means the fuels low. Dealer also mentioned that he'll be doing an oil change before delivery so that's a plus.

zaleonardz, I have dropped you a pm. That's a really good service to offer especially when all you have is the dealers word for the car being sound.

Hi Philip

Working out finance and trying to find the best insurance and warranty. Dealers offering Motorite but not 100% sure as I've read bad reviews about them on this forum.

Anyone heard if MotorMed is good or is using the MotorMed warranty. Saw a leaflet at TuneTech.

As MSM suggested I did the Check Control to verify what the warning triangle was in the display which indicated low fuel.

I've included the service history print out from BMW for the car. If anyone can comment on what they can make out from the printout that would be cool. Brakes seem to have been replaced alot from what I can tell.

Cheers
Mike

I have the same cr from new 2007. I can bet the triangle is on because you not wearing your seatbelt

Go for the manual it is way faster. My 118i (F20) is much faster than my E90 325i (auto) from take off
