Hi guys im so sorry for being rude, I never introduced myself when i first started using this forum a while ago. Well here goes, I am Yolani a.k.a Clyde from East London but currently in Cape Town. Im a student doing my BTech in Information Technology (4th year). I currently own a BMW E28 525e soon to have a 2jz-gte transplant. She is going to be my daily driver (when she gets back). She is a 1988 model and is currently in the final stages of restoration in East London. I don't have any pics yet as im far from her now but as soon as i'm back home in mid June, i'll post a few as she will be complete by then.

Also i want help from you guys, i dont know which kit to build for her between these 2:

KIT 1

KIT 2

Also im inlove with this BBS RS mag and want to know what you guys think of it?

Thank you

Heres an original e28 m5 kit on the gum

http://durban.gumtree.co.za/c-Cars-...tyling-bmw-e28-m5-body-kit-W0QQAdIdZ380426405

Very similar to kit 2.

Welcome to the e28 World :)

Yeah i saw that kit but since im in Cape Town it is such an inconvenience for me to purchase as i'd need to travel and fetch it. Nowadays you can't risk sending cash to a stranger and hoping they ship the items to you. Anywho i have a quote already from Seeger body kits for +- that amount including delivery. Thanks though.

+1

Also I'd go with kit 2 , but if I was still in the whole show off scene I would go for kit 1 , because it sets it apart from a stock kit way more . Chicks will notice the kit too , I doubt they'd notice kit 1 :fencelook:

Maintaining a BMW engine is a hassle and involves alot of cash, worse when you want to get more oomph from it. I just don't think its worth it.

Its funny how we people are. When someone is in a tight spot we say to them "be strong, you have the heart of a lion, you can do it....and so on," but wen we do the same thing to our cars then its wrong. I want to put the heart of a lion into my BMW, i don't see a problem there, or are you guys scared of competition?

I agree with kit 2 as the obvious choice . As to the choice of powerplant far be it from me to be biased towards any brand (as my user name cleary shows)

But why oh why would you :flyfun: put a toyota engine in a BMW?

Without invading upon your right to drive a dishwasher on wheels if you want a toyota go for it.
But why put a noble machine that has served you well through the indignity of receiving the innards of some JAPCRAP I will never know.

Stupid idea:thumbdo::thumbdo::thumbdo:

lol is not about competition mate...it's the love for the car, the passion for the heritage, the history..not always about being the fastest from A to B, but about the feeling..the sound of the motors, even the tiny ones..the feel of the car..it's like being in a different world...my e36 which I loved and gave to my sister to use wen I got my E90 and which she proceeded to bang up slightly and needs alota tlc which unfortunately I can't afford right now..but I will hold onto her as long as I can and wen I can I will fix her up..her 2Litre motor and all...even if a jap motor kicks my arse on the roads...they wont get the same feelin I get..:inlove:..love for BMW..its about the memories..and passion..even though I currently disappointed with the brands service..BMW for Life ...and yes we must be wise about the pockets but treasure the engineering that went into that car..and one day wen you can restore it...thats all im saying...no disrespect mate :)
