I changed one of my wheels and accidently forgotten the locknut adaptor in the mag. Any advise guys? Would BMW help me out by giving them my Vin number perhaps?

Yep, BMW can get you a replacement. Not sure if it is tied to your VIN number. However, there is a limited number of adapters, so just go to your nearest dealer and have them try out a few until they get it ...

A few years ago, I bought a E46 and I did not find an adapter in the toolkit. The (non-BMW) dealer that sold me the car said he would pay for a replacement, but I needed to take the car to BMW to get the adapter as they needed to match it to the one on the wheel. Anyway, it took them a few mins but they found the correct adapter.

Hey thanks msm. will try them on Monday. Hope I don't get a flat. :mmm: What did they charge you btw?

I can't recall the price, as it was about 3 years ago. Was not much though ... (< R50 IIRC)

R80 at BMW westgate.
I got a flat when I baught the car and only then realized that I needed it. Was a sunday afternoon on the way back from Lens cricket ground. Hubled home with wheel foam, garage to garage.
At the one by the n12 where you come back to Westrand a BMW driver was at the garage and I asked if he had one I could borrow to get the wheel of. And his fitted.

Now I have 2.

One in the car and one in the toolkit. Just incase.

I paid R141 a few months ago.. And you will always realise its missing when you have a flat tire.. had to use tire foam then drive around to 3 different BMW's until I found one that had the correct one..

A good thing to do is take note of the number on your locknut and write it (with a marker) in the toolbox. At least you know what number to get in an emergency if you find your locknut missing.

Note to self: Do this on my own cars tonight :thinker:

It was around R140. I don't think that I will make that mistake again. It will always play back to the last scenario. Spraying it Bright Yellow :) Oh btw. I took note of the number.
