List of retrofit kits for F30

Does anyone here perhaps have a list of retrofit kits that are available for the F30 or would I have to phone a dealership to get this info?

I'll be driving my F30 for a long time so I'm thinking that every now and then, if some extra money comes in, I'd like to do some "upgrades".

First off I'd like to get the Alpine HIFI upgrade asap. The stock sound is driving me nuts. When I want to turn up the volume every now and then I don't want it to sound like the speakers are falling apart. :nonono:

The Alpine upgrade doesn't seem to be widely available though. Out of the 4 dealerships I contacted only one (Cedar Isle Auto) has the Alpine system listed as a retrofit for the F30. The other dealerships only have the HK system listed. I find this strange as one would think that all the dealerships query a central database as far upgrade kits go?

I'd obviously save a bucket load of $$$ by going the aftermarket route for a sound upgrade but with the warranty on the line I don't know if I want to take that risk to be honest.

I was then thinking of the auto dimming exterior mirrors but that will obviously depend on cost.

At some point I'd also like to replace the 17" multi-spoke lux-line rims on my ride with the 18" ones.

did you buy your F30 new or used? the cost of these upgrades on the aftermarket will far exceed the cost of when ordering the car new, also there isn't much aftermarket support for the F30 in terms of coding options avail for items like autodiming mirrors...

Bought the car 2nd hand. The car is well spec'd otherwise (front and rear PDC, sunroof, Xenons, memory seats) but the stock sound is the biggest problem for me atm.

Most of these guys dont know whats available, one guys from parts dept was adamant there were only one type of tail lights for the E90 and didnt know the blackline tailights. I had to get the part number for the poor guy.

If you have the part number I'm pretty sure any of them can get it for you.

Genuine aftermarket parts are listed on www.bmw.co.za. It appears there is not much you can do as upgrades other than those. Change mags, paint strips, etc.

The upgrade I was looking to do was Halogen to Xenon, but it seems this is not yet supported, or not supported at all.
