I phoned a place in Randburg that I got the details from the liqui site and they never returned my query :cursin:

Midas on the corner of republic road & malibongwe drive stock a few of their products, but their stock always dissapears as soon as it hits the shelves

Hey there

Rather use the Top Tec 4100 5W40.

Specifically designed for BMW with every BMW approval under the sun. A fantastic oil with 40 000km drain intervals on all BMW engines.

You will need 7 Litres :)

Should cost about R600 in total.. Make sure they dont try rip you. Some of the stores dont obey the strict pricing we give them.

Here are our dealer lists:

Guys... I no longer work for Liqui Moly. However... Please drop me a PM if a supplier etc doesnt get back to you or isnt helpful. I will make sure its sorted out. :)

Good to know :), was not too bothered cause I found the Midas that stocked it and their price was decent :)
Until the day I went to buy it and there was no stock of the 4100 ended up getting some shell.. Its for the Corsa so did not mind anyway, next year will use 4100 but will make sure I get hold of it before I drain the oil :)

Nope. Not at all.

It exceeds the spec the Corsa needs and is similar spec to the Top Tec 4100 so you shouldnt have any issues what so ever.

40000Km on an oil change scares the Hell out of me........

I do 12K with Mobil one and only 5-7K with an SM rated dino/synth blend, and even then it comes out looking pretty damn ugly. Sure the oil might still lubricate, but how much carbon, varnish, fuel and particulates can it really absorb till it becomes glue?

I just helped out a friend with an A class Merc that had carbon contamination sensor problems and collapsing oil filters from the long duration oil changes. OEM manufacturers are really pushing the boundaries these days in order to produce "low maintenance" cars that sell, and they do because the "perceived" service cost from long intervals is cheap.

Problem is all the shit from long service intervals is only going to show up once the maintenance plan expires, and what the heck, we'll sell you a new engine or parts then and make more dosh anyway.

You can change oil an filter too often as well, I remember looking at results of oil analysis tests recently that showed the filter only reaches it's maximum efficiency after a few thousand Km. Oddly the oil parameters and particle count were consitently at their most stable about halfway through an oil change.
