Limp Mode Issue

Hi Guys

I recently had the breather replaced on my 320d E46. Yesterday when I was on the highway I had to change to 3rd gear to get up a hill... normaly in 6th gear its no problem. I am assuming that the car went into Limp Mode. How do I get it out of limp mode??? The turbo Sounds Fine and after changing the breather there is no smoke at all, the car is just lazy as shit.

any advise?

Thanks

Limp mode will show errors on the dash. This sounds like a charge pressure error, either the turbo vanes are sticking, or the vacuum lines are broken or the pressure converter is not working properly anymore. There are other possible causes, but they are less likely. Unfortunately you will have to find a capable mechanic with a proper diagnostic tool to find the problem this time round...

You'd need a diagnostics done to check for faults. Is your engine management light on?

I also had this. Vacuum actuator probably faulty (R1500ish from the dealer or swop the turbo and the EGR's actuators around) and it cannot hurt to change out all the vacuum lines for both the turbo and the EGR. R209/meter from the dealers, but rather get some less expensive ones elsewhere. Just make sure about the correct size and type.

Spoke to a guy that got a replacement 'vacuum line kit' from the dealer for his X5 or something for R350 odd, but this does not sound right considering that the dealer only wanted to sell to me per meter. Could prove worthwhile to do you own quotes quickly.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the feedback. There is no light on my dash on so then its not limp mode...

The car does fine in the lower revs, only when I get to about 3000 rpm it seems like there is no power. Ill send it for a diagnostics and have it checked out.

Thanks Gents.
