The BMW 3 Series Sedan M Performance Edition. BMW SABMW South Africa says that it will expand its offering in the BMW 3 Series model line-up in May 2014 by introducing a new M Performance Edition model.

This limited production vehicle boasts an array of BMW M Performance Parts designed to enhance the styling and performance attributes of the BMW 3 Series Sedan. Only 500 units of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan M Performance Edition will be produced at BMW's Rosslyn plant in Pretoria, and will be made available in the 320i, 320d, 328i, 330d and 335i engine derivates.

BMW says that this special model will offer up to 43 percent saving on the limited edition content compared to a normal BMW 3 Series Sedan specified with the same options and separately fitted with the M Performance parts.

The limited edition BMW 3 Series Sedan features the BMW M Sport Package, 19-inch M Sport wheels, and M Sport brakes. It also boasts the M Performance aerodynamic package, M Performance side sills, M Performance carbon rear spoiler, M Performance carbon wing mirror caps, and black M Performance front grille.

In addition, customers will be able to order optional 20-inch BMW M Performance light alloy wheels, M Performance top stripes, M Performance exhaust system (only available on the 328i and 335i), Laguna Seca Blue and Valencia Orange metallic paint colours, and the BMW M Performance Power Kit, which increases output by between 10 and 15kW and torque by more than 30Nm (this is only available for the 320d, 330d and 335i).

How much, you ask? The BMW 3 Series Sedan M Performance Edition content will cost you R50 000, or R65 000 if specified with the metallic paints. BMW says that M Performance Edition content fitted at dealership would normal cost R87 000.

The 20-inch alloys are a cool R43 900, the top stripes a further R2895, and the exhaust system some R11 755. And the M Performance Power Kit? R15 670.

I don't see much difference to a normal M-Sport model in the package from the pics above, orange one has 20 inch rims and all have the full front bumper splitter. The side skirts and splitters look like they have cosmetic colour coding and scripting, but basically the same as the MSPort model items.

In what way is this different to what is currently offered? :dunno:

Biggest hogwash ever.

One will be able to buy these so called M PERFORMANCE EDITION goodies on EBAY for fraction of the cost.

Fit them and motorplan still intact.

As for the term M PERFORMANCE EDITION , oh my word. What happened to the good old days where this meant the car came from the ///M Division

These parts are so expensive and the downside is that's it's common also.
We need more after market accessories options.

It's cheaper to PPK your car but I think they discontinued that also. ::nonono:

I do like the white one, and it would be so easy to make one look like the one in the photos above. I think it looks the business.

I don't think one would have to break the bank to have the same overall effect. One can always do a wrap to have the effect, instead of replacement parts.

Is the white one in the pic above lower?

Rather take what these extras would cost and add a bmw approved performance package, like Schnitzer software or the actual Motorsport software.

...that way your ride will look more avarage, but when one of the so called Performance models stops next to you, you can beat his ass from robot to robot!
