Life on the other side...(for BMW dealers)

Point taken, with that being said there are still for a few excellent BMW dealers out there.

I fully agree, with you. Hence I named Club motors Fountains, as one of the best. I personally referred many fanatics there as of late, and they all left satisfied.

Bad dealerships should however not exist. Had I had the same horrible experience (I had witth BMWSA), with a Hyundai dealership, on my Hyundai, I guarantee you Hyundai SA would have handled it better.

As a premium brand BMW's service should be what it was years ago, and should sort out there bad dealerships.

Sadly with several Dealerships being privately owned, for example BMW Super Tech (KZN's most notorious), it is not going to be easy.....

Have never taken my car to Auto Bavaria Midrand but serviced my E90 330d at JSN once. A forum members' car was abused at JSN so they're on my shit list along with most dealerships in Joburg.

How's North Cliff Auto and Lyndhurst Auto? Would like to try them if they're not scumbags like the rest.

Guys what I noticed that there are only certain good service advisors that work with certain good mechanics at Bmw.
If u lucky to get allocated to them then all goes well. Unfortunately these good people only form 1 % of the entire BMW staff.
This should not be the case. Bmw is a premium brand with paying customers, we expect better.

Generally you develop a good relationship with the 'good' service advisors etc, but if they leave the dealership or are on leave that day you need them. Generally all goes pear shape, and your perception of everything good is destroyed....

That's exactly how it is! All down to the service advisors. Some seem to care(very few) and most don't give a toss. The good advisor's still seem to take pride in their job and keeping the customer informed, pity BMW doesn't notice them. We should start a positive thread to help the good guys get some positive feedback?

My worst experience was at VW Princes in Benoni.

November 2009 took my Golf 5 GTI for 75000km, got a call that my car was missing and that I should call tracking company.
Flippen pricks left keys in car in the wash bay, they had washed the car but needed to dry it but lunch was more important!!

Car gone, never seen it again!!!

My dealings with 1 Mazda dealership suggest that they are no better than the terrible BMW service either.

I think its a South African thing and if you happen to stumble across a good dealership(regardless of brand) you should consider yourself lucky, because its clearly the exception.
