Is that legal?

@Moranor: If you enjoyed 4 then there is no reason to get 5, in my opinion 5 feels like less of a game than 4.

how so? i realize everyone is disappointed because its not what they thought it would be... surely its still better than gt4?

the only reason for me to get a ps3 is gt5 i dont need a blueray player and i dont game enough any more to make it worth me getting otherwise...

I like NFS Shift2 better than GT5. Graphics not as good as GT% but cars at least show crash damage and when you drive over spoilers and stuff that came off cars you hear it. Much more realistic than GT5. Have tried the E30 M3 with the V10 motor stuffed in and it is practically impossible to drive because of wheelspin.
Some of the nicest cars are the Audi TT with full works conversion and of course the GTR's!
Have a Driving Force steering wheel with homemade (Golf) seat setup. Playing off an HD monitor with sound

It really just doesn't feel like a complete game, it just feels like there is some much less that GT4 and for the most part the graphics is not even that much better. And when they say there 200 premium cars (ie awesomely rendered car) it is not even close to that, for instance there are three different nascar cars, but each has something like 5 different liveries so it ends up being counted as 15 premium cars when in fact is is just 3, same with the nsx and other race car type cars, so you probably end up with less than half of the actual number of premium cars.
And just as good the premium cars look the standard look bad, it would have been much better if there was more of middle ground in terms of quality. It seriously looks like the textures used for the standard cars are just the same as those used in GT4 and they look even worse in GT5 because now it is stretched for the HD resolution.

Also the physics don't feel right at all, feel almost the same as GT4 and worse that the physics in GT5 prologue. Also the collision physics is totally screwed and feels like the kind of thing you would find in a NFS game, kinda arcady and insanely irritating. The AI for the other car are also just as bad as it was GT4

I could go on but I am getting tired.

Well you can see it as that I guess, with a lot fewer races. (There are not so many more tracks really)

(Tell why does a racing game need the pick-up truck challenge, but there is no ///M challenge or BMW based races for that matter)

there were only 2 bmw races in gt4 anyway... im hoping updates will steer this in the right direction... but that all depends on if gt5 still gets support after the crushing release...

if the game was good people would pay for new cars/races/ect... but if no one wants to play it it wont work...

Exactly, don't get me wrong GT5 is not a bad game, it pretty good, it is just not nearly as good as was expected, and that probably is worse than making a bad game I guess.

GT5 took way to long to release and they kept on pushing it to a future date so I don't think they did all they could and were struggling for time.

I like NFS: Shift/2 because the cars are fun to drive and the selection, while smaller than GT5, is better in terms of quality, but GT5 does a few races that Shift doesn't. Grid was also a really cool game (fun drifting) and I just find games with a bit of an arcade feel are better than the ones that try to be pure simulator.
