So i got about 700kms till my next service which will be the last under motorplan

I have a few questions though, the car is a 2004 e46 325ci
mileage is 96000kms

1. which dealer would the best place to take my car in the pretoria region
im from ct, so all good contacts are down there, feel like im starting from square one again. Club motors?? Leo Hatfield??? etc?

2. what sort of things should i get checked out, if someone can give me/post a link of the common areas that need attention for the e46 platform it would be much appreciated.

3. as mentioned in another thread taking it a specialist for a once over is a good idea. Budler motorsports was mentioned. anyone in the centurion area that can offer this type of service to me?

4. i dont think ill be extending the plan, cos the quotes i got from bmw where quite ridiculous. tried doing it online, but it seems it doesnt work, maybe its just me, anyone else get it to work online?

What you can do is take it to Rob Green Motorsport for a full mechanical check.

Will cost you a few grand but they are very thorough. They will give you a report that you can then show your BMW dealer.

Contact Leo Haese Hatfield, speak to Charlene at the booking department.
Also speak to Costa when you take the car in, he is the one incharge of the workshop.
Tell him if possible can they do a FULL checkup on the car.
Hope you come right,
I've been taking my car there for 3 years now, every service, and other problems, and ALWAYS happy.

O, by the way, had my previous BMW for 2 years, so thats actually 5 years total always happy.
Koos is the other man incharge at the workshop. and if Charlene is not there speak to Solly.

You must get warranty/motorplan cover...try Hollard or get qoutes from a broker....when a beemer breaks it becomes very expensive out of pocket. Their are some warranties where you can cover just the key expensive components....make some more calls:thumbsup:

ok, so i went leo hatfield
i asked charlene to ask the techie to give the car a quick check to see wat needs to be replaced
in addition to the service, i got my shocks, pads, front discs, clutch, lca's and wiper blades changed
very happy with their service, they gave me call during the service and when it was completed (the branch in centurion never called, i had to call them)

hey guys
when replacing the clutch kit that has a dual mass flywheel, is it not neccessary to replace the flywheel as well??
i ask becuase i dont recall seeing the flywheel on the invoice, only the clutch kit
when i had my gti, various people advised that the dmf be changed too

also would the be any reason for the driver sideskirt to be removed during the service/ replacement of the above parts??

*edit: im assuming the 325ci has a dual mass flywheel

You DO have a dual mass.. but it is an item which should last pretty long..

and you only need to replace it if it is worn which is not that often.. I have gone thru 2 clutches but still have the original flywheel

DONT replace the OEM with a fixed mass as it will gives you loads of chatter
