Lack of respect forr other people's property (Rant post)

So on Saturday I went to Woodmead to go do some shopping, bearing in mind this is at 1pm on Saturday and it was super busy, anyways when I was leaving, I was in my car, car was on and I was in reverse but not moving as it was busy and there were people about I noticed a family, the mom, the daughter and a young guy (maybe about 17-18 with a bag of sweets or something in his hand), dressed quite well, hair groomed, not skollie looking walking behind my car so I politely waited for them to pass then I heard my pdc going wild so I looked in my rearview mirror to see this youngster bending over and looked like he was busy with my badges!

So I wind down the window and shout at him (What are you doing??) and this young arrogant chop stares at me and carries on walking like nothing was wrong to their car (a white Hyundai i10)

So I pull out and wait for them to pull out, but then the people who I was with basically talked me out of confronting them, so I put my hazards on and get out my car and go look behind and what do I see?

This little b*stard stuck a food price label over my rear roundel... :RedNo: and I had just had my car cleaned so it was stuck on pretty well, I had to remove the residue with baby oil when I got home (more hassle)

Now as trivial as it may be there are certain points here:

No.1 : This is my car, not yours. My property. Not yours. You do not walk around sticking price tags on people's cars as funny as it may seem because one day he's going to do it to the wrong person and he's gonna get his face smashed.

No.2 : It is a lack of respect of someone else's property!

and No.3 obviously this was a spoilt brat with serious inferiority issues but the unbelievable thing was how blatant he was!

Saturday 1pm in Woodmead (and if you've ever been there you know how busy that place gets) I was in my car, and my car was on and I saw him bend down and stick it on and then when I shouted at him he turns round and looks at me as if he's done nothing wrong and carries on walking!

He is so lucky I was with a girl and she basically talked me out of confronting them which in hindsight I should've done.

If I was with my mates he wouldn't have been so lucky

Rant over!

What is with people??

I tried to snap a pic of them with my phone but my battery was dead

Terrible! Unfortunately culture and respect can't be bought. We assume that others raise their children properly, but unfortunately the mom would probably have defended her son and escalated the issue if you took it further.

One of my staff had a badge stolen in broad daylight from the office car park. My wife has (on Thursday) also been reversed into (fog and bumper damaged) with no note or anything from the offending party. What kills me is that not only do they not care about your property... they don't seem to care about theirs either!

Seems like people love being complete jackasses.

I actually hate going to Sandton and Woodmead (I was near Toyzone on Saturday at 1pm strangely enough) and had someone park like a complete MORON next to me... diagonally across the parking bay so that I could not open my rear door to put my son into the car-seat. Fortunately he didn't damage my car in the process.

I would've accelerated onto the naughty little fkr and give him a shock (Not knock him down)!!! Then his mom wouldve turned around and paid attention and then seen what the lil doos was doing!

These youngsters are nowadays are so daf yet so brave to do silly things!

This is the result of a generation (or 2) where one doesn't give little Johnny a clip upside the ear hole for being obnoxious or lippy. No no. One has to sit down and discuss with little Johnny why his behaviour isn't right.

If I had tried a stunt like that with my mom around she would have made me sort out the car and brought me to your house to wash your car. Trust me I would've taken a looooooooong time washing the car cos I wouldn't have wanted to be taken home to face my old man.

Having grown up with lots of love and nurturing but also strict DISCIPLINE I can say with pride everyday that I thank my parents for the way they raised my brother and I.

There's no discipline left in society and because you can't give a lippy little twat like that the pk he so richly deserves trust me it's just going to get worse :RedNo:

I really admire your self control and restraint. I don't know if I would have been able to walk away from that.

Agree 100% with WIDEOPN-X3. THIS is the society we are breeding. THIS is the future of the world. No respect for parents or elders and no respect for themselves. Totally unaccountable for their actions.

Its just so sad, I have had it as well, as many have experienced, I had my valve caps stolen, my bumper scratched, my door dinged....,

:clapper: Well, congrats for being so cool about it, i had an incident a few years back with my F30, the little Johnny (not his real name) sticks his bubblegum on my BMW badge while walking with his dad. Both laugh about it not realising i was sitting in the car, watched them walk into the mall and into the store, and when they stood at the till, i chewed a bubblegum and stuck it on his hair, they never knew a thing, childish i know but it was worth it at the time:roflol:

Where i'm from (Durban), you never mess with someones car no matter what the issue is.

If you do, you get the shit smacked out of you.
