As you know, my name is Pj I hail from a small town in Durban, Tongaat.
I drive a 1997 M3 and a 2008 e90 320d. I’ve been a member on the forum since 2010. I’m 29 years old however my ID says I’ll be 31 this year.
My interests are cars ofcourse as well as Football, Engineering and DIYing
My love affair for BMW started when I was still in school. Grade 10 or std 8 to be exact when I first drove my uncle’s e36 325i. Subsequently he passed away a few years later and left me an inheritance to buy a car. Naturally I had to buy a BMW.
My plans for KZN is to have bigger and better events than last year while increasing our KZN membership and regular followers and making a bit of profit for the forum.

Peejay will introduce his team in this thread in due course...

6.Where does his passion for BMW originate from?
Well if my initials didn't give it away already I have always been into BMW's as a kid my mum had a red E36 316i, followed by a Silver E46 318i which was passed on to me and I still have it 15 years later, the posters on my wall were always BMW's and my ultimate dream car is an E46 M3. Over the years I've driven tons of BMW's and the love for these cars has amplified with each and every one of them and that is why I will stand by BMW in any occasion.

7.What is his favourite quote?

8.We asked him to share a funny story about himself, this is what he said:

When we had our E53 X5 3.0d the turbo on it was unusually loud so for some reason I got asked about mods alot(car had absolutely nothing done to it besides a set of Toyo Proxes) so I'd make up stories about mods (JB, downpipe, bigger turbo, DPF delete, EGR Bypass, Decat...) the look on people's faces when they heard that was priceless. However I never raced anyone, car just sounded mad.

I grew up idolizing E30's as a result of my old man owning 2 of them when I was a mere toddler. I remember waking up early nearly every morning just before he left to work, not to say goodbye, but to watch the Tunis beige E30 320i Coupe he drove, depart our driveway. That matured into a love for E36 M3's when he eventually purchased an E36 318iS in Dakar yellow. Despite being an all-round petrolhead and massive JDM fanboy, BMW's eternally hold the title of primary obsessions. The current obsession specifically being a certain Valencia Orange Metallic 1M Coupe.


7. What's his favorite quote?

The last ultrasound prior to my birth shows my hands up in the "10 and 2" position as though they were holding a steering wheel. The doctor actually remarked "Mrs Maistry, your son is driving", to my mom.

Our entire family has been predominantly BMW Oriented from the time I was little, my father’s E30 started the love affair in 1992 though. The sound of that 325is stirred something inside me, as many can relate, and I’ve never looked back since.
My old man has owned every generation of the 3 since the E30 and a few models of each so the love for the brand just grew exponentially as I got older. In recent years, the economical accountant in me has taken over due to work mileage and a love for the BMW diesels was spawned. My colleagues at work have labelled me ‘the walking BMW showroom’ these days due to all the BMW lifestyle accessories and constant BMW talk in the office. I don’t think it’s love or passion anymore…it’s obsession.
