I’m currently driving an F30 320i (2014) MSport Estoril blue which is out of motorplan. My family wants to upgrade to an X5. Any tips and advice on this?

Your best bet would be a 30d previous gen. These are solid. Maintenance out of MP is reasonable except for tyres compared to a 3.

Which year model is that? Or what model? Is it a G model etc?

This is the F15 model, however it would depend on you budget.

I was looking at an F15 25d a short while back.
They were not too popular when new, so you can pick up very good deals on low mileage ones compared to used 30d models with higher miles.
Something to consider.

Had an E70 3.0d that I took to ~260k km

Biggest issue was the handbrake actuator which I believe was resolved with the F model. Then Angel eye globe replacements which I also believe was resolved with the F models.

Besides those, just normal services

A 3.0d F15 would be a good choice
