JCW ECU upgrade??

Hey guys,

So I was just thinking about what the John Cooper Works is like over the standard S, and seeing as there is nothing different with regards to the turbo and engine, do you think that if I asked my dealer very nicely they would flash the JCW map to my ECU? I have built up a solid relationship with them, so it could be worth a try

Has anyone else tried/requested this?

Jarryd F are you sure there is nothing different on the engine? i would think it at least has some cooling upgrades...

Why would a manufacturer just do different maps for an uprated model when later every Tom Dick and Harry can just copy these maps over?

The KIT upgrade and the factory Cooper S JCW are very different.
It seems that the KIT upgrade can be fitted to any standard Cooper S. I have heard of this factory option as an add-on to the standard Cooper S, but its quite pricey from the agents. Do you have a contact who has this MAP?

I have witnessed first hand what happens when you flash a JCW map to a normal cooper S.

It wont even start afterwards :biglol:

Thank goodness a backup was taken of the original map or someone would have had a very expensive (flatbed) trip to the dealer.

You can't put a JCW map on a non-JCW. But we can load a map for you and your car will make more power than a JCW.
