Morning Guys

hope you are all well,

Im not sure of this is normal in the f30 as I haven't really noticed it until now.

I hear a knocking sound when turning left at slow speeds, It also knocks when im on stand still and shake the steering left/right

Is this a steering rack issue or something on the suspension ?

Depends where the knock comes from, could also be shock mount.

Its the steering rack. Mine did the same, BMW replaced it under warranty with a newer revised rack version. Problem solved.

Most likely the steering rack yes. Odd to have one that is in plan do this, from 2014 onwards they were sorted I believe. My 2012 320d was screwed but my 2014 335i never had an issue. Take it to BMW, let them sort it, but they might start getting reluctant to fix them under plan as they'd rather you trade the F30 on a G20...

Most likely nothing, if its under plan.

Just take the car to BMW.
