:thumbdo::nonono: I dont hold the same sentiments as you as I feel that BMW is failing us a brand that was once the benchmark, their quality has dropped so much in the last few years, and to allow things like to slip through is just not right.
That is a very old picture and story - if my memory serves me correct (stand to be corrected) it was late 2011 that happened. he did not get full satisfaction after that either.

If you read some of the posts you will notice one of our member has just had a terrible raw deal with a brand new 135 - that could well have been a rebuild.

This was posted some time ago, and of course is sad to see. But unfortunately this is the reality in many cases. I think BMW really needs to sit down and rethink its development and testing strategies in terms reliability and durability in their new cars, and training for that matter. It seems more and more that problems are just not properly diagnosed, or at all, and then other excuses are used (fuel quality for instance).

Such a pity that this is NOT their priority, and chances are most of us will have moved onto the Japanese and Korean (and even Chinese) brands by the time they realise that this IS a big problem!

But don't new cars have a 3 yr BMW manufacturer warranty, so if there were defects like a faulty engine, then , hand it back go the dealership to resolve ?
I must say that Motorplan is unique to SA. I can only compare it to what I'm exposed to and in the EU, service plans have been introduced ( on non M models) recently , but the BMW manufacturer warranty is always a string backup for buyers

you are correct in saying that the warranty should kick in but BMW are stepping back and saying that Motorplan are supposed to warranty it now, its a political game and we as consumers are suffering.
In actual fact the Motorplan is really a fancy service plan.:thumbdo:

That's what I understood it to be, over and above the " service plan"- ( my expeirnced warranty claims) so, if there was dew in the lights of brand new car, rear windscreen washer nozzle seized and needed carpets removing, paint defects heat panels on exhaust rattling, drivers seat replaced due to sticky backrest operation start stop ignition stopped working and a few others.... I've mentioned them to give an example of the varied items claims were made on.
The claim process, call any dealership and book it in- the national database recognises its warranty stat date and validation....this is included included in the purchase price... Approve used cars get a years warranty with option to extend- mileage determine lvl of cover- I don't know what needs to be done but SA buyers are at the mercy of these crooks--- is there an office of fair trading who could be notified about this
