Is there a recall on the positive battery cable on the x35s

Yes there is , but without even asking for a vin number the 'ever so friendly staff at BMW' will tell you that the recall does not apply to you.

Had my car in last week for injectors and they did the battery cable recall as well.

People are asking me if their cars will go up in flames if they dont have the cable replaced. I wonder what the issue is with the cable? Do you know?

It's exactly as you say, there were reports that the cable disintegrates due to too much flexing and the recall is to replace it with a sturdier cable

When I took my car for a vacuum hose fix, they told me about the recall and replaced the battery cable as well.

I think the most serious it can cause is car not starting or dying.

Just thought id let everyone interested know, i called my dealership today about my fiances E87 118, and they informed me about the above mentioned campain. Looks like the battery cable recall isnt just limited to the x35's. Its a 2009 model 118, so they'll be changing her one next week monday and then ill send the 135 in on friday for them to sort out. Guys call your dealership and find out if your car might need to be recalled!
