Hi guys

I'm just curious. Is there a demand for diff ratios? If so, which ratios would you guys be interested in?

LSD solutions for e46 and e90 please...

Only options are to fit an E46 M3 suspension into the E46 and a E90/2 M3 suspension into the E90. Else there's a place in Durbs who does LSD conversions for around 16k. Transaxle Gearbox and Diff. 031 705 4517

Out of which car did the 3.46 come?

If you have an E46 328i then it will fit. It is only the E46 M3 and the E36 4-Door M3 that has the big unit. But you're welcome to do further analysis

Just a question to us guys who don't know about diff,
What options would there be for e90 320 diesel,

A diff ratio can either increase or decrease your rpm. The examples below are for petrol cars

Example 1: A 4.11 diff ratio
- This allows you to accelerate quick through your gears
- RPM in 5th gear at 120km/h would be on 3300rpm
- Top speed 215km/h
- These diff ratios are not ideal for fuel economy

Example 2: A 3.15 diff ratio
- This allows a drag in every gear, very sluggish
- RPM in 5th gear st 120km/h would be on 2300rpm
- Top speed 250km/h +. The guys who builds top-end BMW M3's usually use a 3.15 or a 2.98 ratio which allows them to run speeds of 320km+

The ideal ratio which one will go for is a 3.64. The ratios are as follows:
2.98, 315 - Very long
3.46, 364, 3.72 - The in between ratio, depending on your car and Mods
3.91, 4.11- Quick acceleration through gears
4.44 - Extremely quick acceleration through gears

I hope this helps

e90 320d has a 2.56 diff ratio , top speed in top gear around 227km/h, max torque 1900-2700 rpm

a 4.11 diff in a e90 diesel manual would give a topspeed of around 150km/h

a 3.15 diff in a e90 diesel manual would give a topspeed of around 180km/h
