Is speakers covered on the M/Plan?

Need to get hold of a dealer to establish whether they'll replace one of my speakers in the door. It sounds like it has blown. Before I do though, does anyone of you guys know whether it is covered in the maintenance plan?

Anybody know how the new car warranty works on a BMW. (have heard its 2 years). also, anyone know what they will replace under warranty? like if the steering has scratches on it, and I want it replaced, will they do so under warranty?

Hi there, motorplan will not pay for scratches on the steering. They will only replace parts that they deem as factory faults:bawling:

I know that BMW in america swapped out some of the M3 alcantara (suede) steering wheels under MP since they wear quite easily.

Hi Guys,

I am aware that a steering wheel will not be replaced under motorplan.

What I am asking is, will they replace it under the new vehicle warranty (apparently 2 years from purchase).

If you search on similar forums internationally, you will see waht I am on about.

Hi Guys

They sorted my scrathes on my steering under motorplan. They even sorted the console around the gear leaver.

Care to share which dealership this was?As it appears all dealerships differ in the way they handle motorplan claims for things like steering wheels, dashboards, door panels(which according to their documentation, is considered "trim" and not covered under motorplan).

Sure
I called 5 dealerships and i have to say i agree with you that some dealerships differ.
Some refused and just transfered me to the parts department where they told me i need to buy replacement parts.

I finally got hold of two dealerships who were willing to assist.

1. Clearwater BMW - however they could only assist with the trim the following week. Friendly bunch.

2. JSN BMW in Bryanston which is the dealership i decided to go with since its up the road. I have to say the service delivery I recieved was brilliant. Took the car in for handbrake adjustment, Front fog light housing to be tightened and for the repair to the steering cover. They repaired everything and then they even resprayed my gear lever console which had a few scratches due to wear and tear. Now all the plastics look and feel like new again. Will take the car to them for regular service from now on.

Thanks for sharing where to try. Also, what kind of scratches did the steering have?
