IS IT A REAL M540i
SOMETHING DON'T SEEM TO MATCH EG
ITS ON 16" MAGS
ONLY HAS BMW LOGO ON DOOR TRIMS
BACK HAS M SPORT BAGE
IS THERE SOME WHERE I CAN GO TO LOOK AT PICTURES

The E34 540i M had the following:
* 6 speed manual box
* M-Technic suspension
* M-Technic Body kit
* M Sport seats
* Traction control (It's a button just in front of the gear lever with ACS written on it)
* Light weight alloy wheels (I'm to sure about all the different wheels that was available at the time. Mine has Throwing stars)

Have a look here. It might help identify if it's real.

very thing looks the same but has 16" wheels has m badge on boot front 540I all black seats etc colour says helred will put photos up

to upload pics you need to load the image onto a site like photobucket then paste the url into the box that comes up when you insert pic

try putting the vin into realoem and see what comes up

For the 6 speed M the VIN must be something like this: BB82000
The same number would be on some of the original windows as well. If you can't find a number starting with BB20.. then it's most likely not what the owner claims it to be.

According to realoem bk35100 is an euro 540i Manual with production code HE52.
Could be the real thing

Those are not SA spec rims. Did the 540/6 come out with the wood grain? Can't recall. So if an import, it would be interesting to see the history.

This car must be an import from New Zeeland. That must be why the speedo is in metric terms.
I googled Cooke Howlison BMW (which is on the numberplate holder) and that turned out to be in NZ.
