Is BMWSA really on a witch hunt?

Booked my car in at my dealer for some work to be done. I get a call a couple of days ago wanting to know if I am willing to participate in a customer satisfaction survey for them. Thought it was odd they calling me before my car is booked in. Then the lady proceeds to say that they will issue me with a wrist watch with a builtin camera (via postnet) to film my experience with the dealership when I take the car in. In return they will give me R400.00.

I never heard from them again though.

Guys, this may sound crazy, but I have heard of a company that still does this. This not only happens with BMW, but Mercedes and Audi as well

I belong a research company so hear these sort of crazy things from time to time

Ive heard of a company called Mystery Shopping that conducts surveys on behalf of the holding company-A friend worked there and he told me when he once visted a Fiat dealership, while using full surveilance equipment the salesmen told him not to buy this piece of cr*p. OUCH !!!!:flyfun:

Yip indeed Prego. :thumb:

My brother worked for both Wimpy and KFC, and his wife worked for Truworths, and they would get "mistery shoppers", that would get paid to come and spy, and even get "hardegat" to see how you treat them, and then they have to report back to HQ.

Now if you take that my brother resigned from Wimpy in 2009, and his wife from Truworths in 2007 already, this consept is actually not so new in the sales industry, but maybe its only now coming to the motor vehicle industry. :dunno:

Has arrived at Automotive Industry for a long time already!
Someone I know is a "Mistery Shopper" for BMW, lives in Cape Town and is travelling all over the country for his "surveys"

No wrist watch camera though.... button camera, cellphone camera and pen camera he has and he does the recording with all three at the same time.
I personally can not see a wrist watch camera working; just imagine in which way you must strangely hold your arm all the time to get some pics done

I used to do surveys for a company called Market Pulse. Not as high tech as this though. Simple visit to certain businesses and then you complete a survey form afterwards.

Nice extra cash when you are a student:=):

ps. this was a long time ago.

Very nice idea but does it work in the end of the day?

Lets take a certain dealer in Pretoria, Leo Haese Hatfield, if the "spy team" have visited that dealer absolutely nothing came of it because their service and attitude is still the worse you get.

When I had my meetings with BMW SA not once were they willing to take on the dealers regarding the bad workmanship delivered so what is the point if you speak directly to BMW SA and nothing come of it. I doubt if a research company can make a difference.

Maybe this research is only for new cars sales ? because new sales figures appears to drive BMW.

Folded arms?

A customer walks into a dealership with folded arms, looks at cars with folded arms and talks then to the sales guys still arms folded?
