Hi guys,

Just wanted to know. I've got an aux connection in the glove box compartment and wanted to know the best way to connect an Ipod to the system.

Also what cabling would I need to get going. Sorry, I'm clueless with this stuff. Not sure if I need any special adapters or anything. Also, mounting holder for the Ipod. Thinking of going for an Ipod Touch v4 unit.

I've got a 2005 E90 320i. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

You just need a 3.5mm jack cable (thats 3.5mm on both ends of the cable)

Then plug it into iPod and the other into aux input and away you go

Oh and of course put yout radio onto Aux mode

Is using the Aux connection the best way to connect to an Ipod ? Sorry, I should have asked that first. : ) I believe there are a few ways to connect but I'm unsure if I'll get the best quality using that kind of connection.

BTW, thanks for responding. :thumb:

I'm using an MP3 player (NOT AN IPOD) using a 3.5mm jack cable i bought from HiFi Corp for
R26. But the forward skip and backward skip steering wheel controls don't work with the MP3 player.

The aux jack simply runs straight to the aux input of the head unit and thus no steering controls. If you want to add that functionality, you can add devices like Icelink

Have a look at these sites:

Google DICE. The Dice SILVERLINE does however not charge your ipod, so get the DICE one that does.

also: http://www.dension.com/

You'll most likely have to import, so check out fleabay (ebay) or ask one of the sponsors of BMWFANATICS.
